Puka Nacua's brother, Samson Nacua, got arrested last month for allegedly stealing a car belonging to Los Angeles Lakers forward Adou Thiero. It turns out the whole incident was a honest mistake.
According to investigators, Samson thought the car belonged to Puka since the two vehicles were similar in model and color. Thiero is therefore not pressing charges.
It's the second bit of good news Samson has received this week. The Birmingham Stallions drafted him on Wednesday, giving him another UFL home after stints with the Michigan Panthers and Pittsburgh Maulers over the last two years.
Like Puka, Samson played football at BYU, but only for one season after beginning his collegiate career at rival Utah. Samson amassed 103 catches, 1,344 yards and 14 touchdowns over five seasons. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and had a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints in 2024, yet he still hasn't appeared in an NFL regular-season game.
Puka, meanwhile, has become one of the NFL's most dynamic and productive wide receivers. His Los Angeles Rams head to frigid Soldier Field for a Divisional Round bout with the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
