Luis Enrique still has in mind attracting new players motivated to join PSG. Gavi is more than ever among the profiles appreciated by the Spanish coach, according to reports.
PSG is now at work to strengthen its squad. A few adjustments will be needed by the European champions, notably to compensate for the departures of some players who lacked playing time.
If PSG's midfield is already well stocked, Luis Enrique still has certain ambitions. The Spaniard particularly appreciates Gavi's, 21, profile and dreams of having him under his orders.
The young Barcelona midfielder will not be easy to dislodge from Catalonia, however, even if PSG seems determined to try a new offensive to convince the Spanish champions.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Parc des Princes residents have not abandoned the Gavi case. PSG is even ready to make an $87 million offer to Barcelona to secure the services of the 21-year-old player.
Very attached to the Catalan club, Gavi could nevertheless seriously study the opportunity to join PSG. Luis Enrique likes him enormously and could offer him a major role. An ambitious project, capable of competing for all trophies in the short term, while Barcelona has struggled more to return to European heights in recent seasons.
Spanish media reports that PSG is confident in its chances of signing Gavi this summer. For its part, Barcelona is preparing for all scenarios regarding its midfielder. The Catalan management also wants to be active in the transfer market and could be tempted by a major sale to generate new liquidity.
Recently, the young Spaniard wished PSG luck in the Champions League final, especially his friend Ousmane Dembele and his Spanish colleagues Luis Enrique and Fabian Ruiz. He also praised Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
"Dembele is like a brother to me. I have always said it. He is a very good friend, and we are always in contact. He is in top form; he has shown it since last season, and I hope he wins the Champions League again," Gavi told Mundo Deportivo in May.
He added, "I will also be happy for Luis (Enrique), for Fabian (Ruiz)... There are Spaniards there, and I have a lot of affection for Ousmane. When he left here, I was very sad because we were very close, and I am very happy that everything is going well for him."
When asked about whom he preferred as his favorite wingers, Gavi quickly answered that he prefers Kvaratskhelia above many players. Even when asked if he preferred him to Nico Williams, Gavi could not choose his friend, preferring the Georgian once again. A nod to PSG? Let's wait and see.
