After being relegated with West Ham United, Crysencio Summerville will not be retained this summer. The Hammers winger looked like a good opportunity for PSG. But the Dutchman's performances at the 2026 World Cup are seriously complicating the Parisians' task.
PSG is not only working on the Yan Diomande trail. To compensate for a possible departure in its offensive sector, the capital club is active on other cases, such as Summerville, 24.
Very prominent this season, the winger was one of the few bright spots at West Ham. The Hammers, relegated to the Championship, are therefore forced to let the Dutchman go.
As a good connoisseur of the market, Luis Campos immediately sensed a good deal. Except that the Parisian sports advisor did not expect to see his target shine on his World Cup debut.
The Dutch international showed his quality against Japan (2-2) last Sunday. As a result, many English clubs, who were probably already following the former Leeds United player, suddenly woke up.
According to information from Foot Mercato, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Manchester United have entered the fray. Enough for West Ham to rub their hands, as they were demanding $55 million for their winger before the start of the World Cup, and are logically taking advantage of his performance to raise the price.
Far from possessing the same financial power, the Italian suitors of Summerville, namely Roma and AC Milan, have preferred to abandon the race.
And for its part, PSG finds itself in the middle of English clubs, even though Campos had already begun discussions with the Hammers regarding a double transfer of the winger and Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
The task is becoming seriously complicated for the sports advisor, who hates participating in auctions for his various targets.
The future of Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking department is a complicated topic, and one we have discussed before.
Whether a potential move for Crysencio Summerville makes sense largely depends on how Luis Enrique views him.
For example, if he is being considered as a possible replacement for Gonçalo Ramos, who has been rumored as a target for AC Milan, then the move would make a great deal of sense and could prove to be an excellent addition.
However, if he is being viewed as a potential successor to Bradley Barcola, the situation becomes a bit more complicated.
Barcola, 23, has as much, if not more, potential than Summerville and belongs in the same conversation as the other players currently being linked with Paris Saint-Germain, such as Yan Diomandé and Eli Junior Kroupi, to name a few examples.
That said, reports from France indicate that while talks over a contract extension for Bradley are ongoing, no agreement has been reached so far. It is, therefore, only natural that Paris Saint-Germain is evaluating its options.
