Anthony Richardson's future with the Indianapolis Colts remains in limbo as the former first-round pick is still searching for a trade. The organization declined Richardson's fifth-year option, making the Gainesville, Florida, native a free agent after the 2026 season.
The 2023 first-round selection and his camp requested a trade earlier this offseason, but a market has yet to materialize. Injury concerns may be muddying the water for Richardson as the former No. 4 pick has struggled to stay on the field — he's played just 15 games across three seasons.
Richardson has participated in voluntary workouts after skipping the early portion as other Colts signal callers recover from injury, including Daniel Jones, whom the Colts signed to a two-year, $100 million contract. Coach Shane Steichen expressed that the former Gator remains engaged in meetings and competes on the practice field daily.
ESPN insiders mention the Packers, Bears, Lions and Vikings as potential landing spots, with Minnesota being framed as an enticing possibility. Head coach Kevin O'Connell's quarterback-friendly offense could unlock Richardson's potential
