We have yet another trade in what has been an active NBA offseason, with the Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets striking a deal involving forward Miles Bridges
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Suns are acquiring Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick in exchange for Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale and a 2033 first-round pick.
Charania goes on to note that the Suns are helping themselves financially while also opening up a roster spot before free agency begins on June 30.
“The Suns acquire a starting (power forward) at 28 years old in Bridges — whom they’ve targeted in recent years — plus a 2029 less favorable first-rounder and a 2027 less favorable second rounder while getting $20 million in tax savings while opening up a roster spot ahead of free agency,” he said.

We’ll see if Phoenix has something bigger up its sleeve in the days and weeks ahead.

SF: Dillon Brooks
PF: Miles Bridges
C: Mark Williams
The addition of Bridges comes after a season in which the Suns finished with a 45-37 record that led to a play-in opportunity and playoff birth before a first-round exit at the hands of Oklahoma City.
Phoenix should feel good about that showing, though, as not much was expected out of the Suns after they unloaded Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal during the offseason.

The addition of Bridges adds more athleticism and versatility to the Suns’ roster but won’t do much for Phoenix when it comes to defense near the rim.
What Bridges does give Phoenix is another offensive threat.
The Suns’ starting lineup now features four players who scored north of 17 points per game last season. Brooks, Booker, Green and Bridges all shot over 30% from beyond the arc, also.

Meanwhile, for the Hornets, they are bolstering their roster in the wake of the LaMelo Ball trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves that landed Charlotte a slew of draft picks and a center in Naz Reid.
Allen offers some scoring punch and long-range shooting at guard, and O’Neale is a solid rebounder and defender and could contribute close to 10 points per game.
This trade certainly isn’t going to save the Hornets from having a rough showing next season, but it does make them slightly better.
