The LaMelo Ball era in Charlotte is over. Hours after trade rumors around Ball began swirling, the Charlotte Hornetsdealt their franchise player to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Naz Reid and a bevy of draft picks, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Ball gets a fresh start in Minnesota, where he'll play with one of the best players in the world in Anthony Edwards as well as an elite rim protector in Rudy Gobert. The Hornets, meanwhile, can build for a bright future as they acquired a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps and three second-round picks.

While losing the engine to the offense in Ball hurts, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel are certainly capable of shouldering more of the offensive load for coach Charles Lee. Reid is also the dynamic floor-spacing center the Hornets have needed for years. Here's a complete look at who Lee could trot out to start in 2026-27.
