Penn State football will have a completely overhauled roster to get to know in 2026 under new head coach Matt Campbell. Following one of the most active offseasons in recent memory for Penn State with a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, fans will have a lot of catching up to do in getting to know this year's Penn State roster. Fortunately, not every face will be brand new to fans. Regardless, we will be here to give you a fresh overview of every player on the roster for the 2026 season with a series of player profiles.
From all of the returning players, a long list of new faces from the transfer portal, and incoming recruits from the Class of 2026, we will have you covered with this year's player profiles for the Penn State roster. Here is a quick look at defensive lineman Elijah Reeder for the 2026 season.
Class of 202: Composite 4-star recruit, No. 36 edge rusher per 247Sports
Reeder was another one of Matt Campbell's flips from Iowa State to Penn State this past cycle. He was able to join his teammates in June 2026 to begin practicing.
Reeder has not yet played a snap for the Nittany Lions, but had a standout senior season in high school. He recorded 50 tackles and eight sacks at Central Regional High School.
Reeder is at a heavy disadvantage even before taking a snap, as he enrolled late, unlike several other freshmen looking to break into the starting squad. Therefore, it's safe to say that Reeder is a truly developmental prospect that the coaching staff will have to monitor. His 6-6, 210-pound frame needs improvement as he is also too light as it stands to be competitive against Big Ten opposition. Reeder is a player that will almost definitely need another year.
Despite Reeder's size, he ran a highly impressive 4.61 40-yard dash in high school.
