President Trump is a fan of Commanders QB Jayden Daniels

It's been a big week for the Washington Commanders and the city of Washington, D.C. Last week, Commanders owner Josh Harris and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced an agreement to bring the NFL franchise back to D.C. with a new stadium. The new stadium would also bring much more to the District, including housing, retail, numerous events at the stadium and plenty of jobs.

On Monday, President Donald Trump revealed more big news for Washington, D.C. The 2027 NFL draft is coming to the nation's capital and will be held at National Mall.

After the announcement, President Trump spoke directly to Harris:

"I have to say Josh had a very good draft, a short while ago," Trump said before turning his attention to the Commanders quarterback. "You have a very good quarterback, a great quarterback, I think."

Harris responded with a smile, "We do."

Daniels took the NFL by storm last season, winning Rookie of the Week honors a record 11 times, winning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and, most impressively, led Washington to its best season in 33 years.
