Warsaw 11, Northridge 1 (5 inn.)

Warsaw stung the ball Wednesday with a rout of Northridge in Middlebury. The Raiders gathered five hits — two from Preston Ryan. Warsaw batters took six walks and were hit three times. Northridge is now 3-8, 1-4 NLC.

Mishawaka 2, NorthWood 0

Mishawaka blanked NorthWood Wednesday to jump back in the lead for first in the Northern Lakes Conference. The Panthers out-hit the Cavemen 3-2 with Ryder Ransberger, Brody Rondeau and Jett Rulli all reaching base, but a double from Mishawaka’s Alex Demaegd drove in the game’s lone earned run. NorthWood drops to 7-3, 3-2 NLC.

Plymouth 10, Wawasee 0

Plymouth’s Tucker Sarver pitched a seven-inning no-hitter Wednesday in a win over Wawasee. The Warriors were walked by Sarver nine times, but also struck out 14 times. Wawasee is now 2-7, 1-4 NLC.

SOFTBALL

Concord 3, Goshen 0

Goshen out-hit Concord 9-3, but the RedHawks were unable to scratch a run across in Wednesday’s loss in Dunlap. Abby Snyder and Maddy Denning both recorded two hits for Goshen, but Lizbeth Flores and Esmeralda Perez drove in two runs for the hosts to earn a win. Concord improves to 3-6, 2-3 NLC while Goshen falls to 2-8, 1-3 NLC.

Northridge 11, Warsaw 1

Northridge scored four runs in the second inning and seven in the third to carve up a win over Warsaw Wednesday at home. The Raiders held the Tigers to just two hits while tallying 13 hits themselves. Mia Branam, Angelina Barbaro, Leighla Winchester and Leah Lovely all drove in two runs apiece. Winchester earned the win on the mound, throwing three innings. Northridge improves to 4-3, 3-1 NLC.

Mishawaka 10, NorthWood 4

NorthWood committed six errors and Mishawaka committed four, but the Cavemen used a five-run sixth inning to pull away from NorthWood in Nappanee. Victoria Vega was 4-of-4 at the plate Madelyn Lambert was 3-of-3 and Payton Sears drove in three runs off two hits for the Panthers. NorthWood now falls to 5-9, 1-4 NLC.

Wawasee 4, Plymouth 3

Wawasee trailed 3-0 after the first inning against Plymouth, but the Warriors battled back to tie the game in the fifth inning and watched Ashlynn Corn’s solo home run fly over the fence in the sixth to give Wawasee the go-ahead win. Hadley Allen and Kirra Alvarez both recorded two hits for Wawasee while Audra Weaver drove in two runs. Wawasee improves to 6-7, 2-2 NLC.

BOYS GOLF

SB St. Joseph 156, Penn 159, Concord 175

Concord fell to both South Bend St. Joseph and Penn Wednesday afternoon. Individual results were not submitted by publication. Concord is now 2-4 on the year.

Central Noble 166, Goshen 193

Central Noble defeated Goshen at Cobblestone GC on Wednesday. Individual results were not submitted by publication. Goshen falls to 2-3.

GIRLS TENNIS

Concord 5, Wawasee 0

Concord improved to 2-3, 2-2 NLC with a sweep of Wawasee Wednesday. Winning for the Minutemen were Ellie Krause (1S: 6-2, 6-0), Brynlee Borders (2S: 6-3, 6-2), Raegan Hostetler (3S: 6-1, 6-3), Lilly Newburn and Bri Koontz (1D: 6-0, 6-1) and Sloan Fisher and Angie Ruiz-Urbina (2D: 6-0, 6-0).

Northridge 4, NorthWood 1

Northridge defeated NorthWood to keep their undefeated season alive in the NLC. Winning courts included Northridge’s Elaina Duthie (1S: 6-3, 6-0), Ana Zmuda (2S: 7-6 (7), 6-2), Jade Snyder (3S: 6-2, 6-0) and Jovi Schmidt and Brooklyn Vasil (2D: 6-4, 6-2). NorthWood’s doubles team of Eden Wiggins and Abby Schmucker won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Northridge is now 9-1, 3-0 NLC while NorthWood is 3-4, 1-3 NLC.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Warsaw 78, Concord 54

Warsaw 67, Northridge 65

Warsaw swept and Concord earned a sweep in a heavyweight three-team showdown on the track Wednesday. Winning events for the Minutemen were Bo Brunner (200-, 400-meter dash), Donovan Arnold (discus) and the Concord 4X800-meter relay team. Northridge’s event winners were Baylor Miller (1,600-, 3,200-meter run), Xavier Miller (800-meter run), Max Lamb (shot put) and the Northridge 4X400-meter relay team. Concord is now 4-2, 2-1 NLC while Northridge is 6-2, 4-2 NLC.

Goshen 71, Plymouth 61

Goshen picked up a conference win over Plymouth Wednesday night. The RedHawks saw events wins from Logan Mishler (100-meter dash), Cooper Fish (200-meter dash), Dorian Diaz (800-, 1,600-meter run), Levi Schlegel (3,200-meter run), Daniel Kinsey (high jump, long jump), Deudiel Arista Garcia (pole vault) and Miles Gillette (shot put). Goshen is now 1-4, 1-4 NLC.
