Apr. 11—HARTSELLE — Cole Griffin went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs as Hartselle picked up a 5-3 win over Buckhorn in high school baseball on Friday.

Asher Doepel had a single and one RBI for the Tigers, who scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning before holding off a late Buckhorn rally to secure the win.

Carter Lee pitched five shutout innings to pick up the win for Hartselle, allowing three hits and one walk with four strikeouts.



Athens Bible School 8, Shoals Christian 6: Chandler James doubled, singled and drove in three runs for Athens Bible on Friday.

Jake Banta had four hits, including a double, and one RBI for the Trojans, while Luke Murrell added a single and two RBIs. Banta pitched three innings of shutout relief for the win, allowing just one hit while striking out four.



Elkmont 12, Priceville 2: Layton Schrimsher singled and drove in three runs for Elkmont on Friday.

Andrew Staggs had a hit and two RBIs for the Red Devils, while Bryant Smith and Jayden Newmann had two hits and one RBI each. Schrimsher pitched all five innings for the win, striking out six.

Bryson Mahan had a triple and one RBI for Priceville. Sawyer Mims, Jake Hamilton and Connor Goodman added one hit each.



Tanner 17, Cherokee 1: Ricky Speights homered, singled and drove in four runs in a blowout win for Tanner on Friday.

Hunter Moss had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs for the Rattlers, while Javen Carter had a double and three RBIs. Ashley Lagrone pitched four innings for the win, striking out seven.



Richland (Tenn.) 18, West Limestone 2: Evan Reece led West Limestone with a pair of singles and one RBI on Friday.



Central-Florence 15, Hatton 5: Tasean Love and Wes Steadman had two RBIs each for Hatton on Friday.



Lauderdale County 2, Decatur Heritage 1: Angus Braswell singled and drove in a run for Decatur Heritage on Friday.

Landon Henry and Rafer Jones had one hit each for the Eagles, who outhit Lauderdale County 3-2 in the loss.



Softball



Ardmore 7, East Limestone 3: Fallon Broadway, Kadence Williams and Briley Jo Lawhorn had one hit and two RBIs each for Ardmore on Friday.

Broadway pitched six innings for the win, allowing one earned run with four strikeouts. Presley McMunn had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs for East Limestone.



West Limestone 5, Ardmore 2: Katie Lyn Kyle pitched a complete game for West Limestone on Friday, allowing one earned run over seven innings while striking out 13.

Aubrey Bethune homered, doubled and drove in a run for the Wildcats, while Kyle added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.

Lawhorn led Ardmore with a pair of hits, while Payton Pennington added one RBI.



East Limestone 15, Clements 0: Mahaley Lassie went 4-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBIs for East Limestone on Friday.

Grace Bielat had a pair of doubles and three RBIs for the Indians, while Blake Baker and Campbell Reese added two hits and two RBIs each. McMunn pitched four innings for the win, striking out four.

Zailey Moran and Lexie Henderson had one hit each for Clements.



Elkmont 17, Tanner 0: MJ Woodfin finished 3-for-3 with a homer, triple and four RBIs in a big win for Elkmont on Friday.

Molly Paysinger and Avery Broadway had two RBIs each for the Red Devils, while Layla Smith added a pair of hits and one RBI. Woodfin pitched two perfect innings for the win, striking out three.

Averee Walton had one hit for Tanner.



Lawrence County 10, Buckhorn 2: Ellie Stark went 4-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Lawrence County on Friday.

Alivia Terry singled and drove in two runs for the Red Devils and McKinley McCaghren pitched 3 1/3 innings for the win, striking out six.



Lawrence County 9, Hatton 1: LA Norwood and Maddie Graham had one hit and two RBIs each for Lawrence County on Friday.

Stark pitched seven innings for the win, allowing one run on three hits with one strikeout. Adley Brackin had a pair of hits for Hatton and Adley Armstrong drove in one run.



West Morgan 9, Corner 4: Chasity Rikard went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for West Morgan on Friday, hitting one of the Rebels' three home runs in a big win.

Alyssa Cleveland and Tensley Suggs had solo homers for West Morgan, while Melea Harris added a pair of hits and one RBI. Cleveland pitched six innings for the win, striking out three.



West Morgan 8, Skyline 1: Harris had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs for West Morgan on Friday.

Maddie Leston had two hits, including a homer, and one RBI for the Rebels, while Adi Grace Rodgers added a single and two RBIs. Rikard pitched four innings for the win, striking out eight.



Athens Bible School 12, Covenant Christian 2: Destiny Burns tripled, singled and drove in four runs for Athens Bible on Friday.

Hadley Robison had three hits and two RBIs for the Trojans, while Kate Gwin added three hits and one RBI. Burns pitched five innings for the win, striking out three.



Lincoln County (Tenn.) 2, Athens 1: Caitlyn Tedford and Jaicey Harty had two hits each for Athens on Friday. Rayne Brewer drove in one run for the Golden Eagles.



Sparkman 15, Athens 4: Tedford hit a solo home run for Athens on Friday. Brewer doubled and drove in a run and Jazz Davis added one RBI. Jess Waggoner and Abby Lopez finished with two hits each.
