The amateur golf calendar is about to pick up in a big way, and for the top American women in the world, this could be an unforgettable year.

The 44th Curtis Cup is set for June 12-14 at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles. The biennial competition, pitting eight players from the United States against their counterparts from Great Britain & Ireland, is one of the highlights of the amateur schedule every other year, and this year is bisects the Augusta National Women's Amateur in April and the U.S. Women's Amateur in August.

Two players have already clinched spots on the team, one of whom was a part of the Curtis Cup practice squad that gathered at Bel-Air, site of the 2023 U.S. Women's Amateur, in December.

The three highest-ranked Americans will earn spots on the team come April 8, the week after ANWA concludes.

Here's a look at predictions for who will round out the 8-woman U.S. Curtis Cup team (WAGR ranking in parentheses).

  • Kiara Romero (No. 1)
  • Farah O'Keefe (No. 6)
  • Catherine Park (No. 9)
  • Asterisk Talley (No. 10)
  • Jasmine Koo (No. 12)
  • Anna Davis (No. 13)

Romero is one of the players exempt via her McCormack Medal for being ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Park, Talley, Koo and Davis were all members of the 2024 team that lost at Sunningdale in England, though Park is a senior and may turn professional after her season ends at USC. She, along with some others on the bubble, may wait to make a decision until seeing whether they qualify for the U.S. Women's Open, set for the week before at neighboring Riviera Country Club. If they make the USWO, with the chance of a guaranteed pay day, it may mean turning pro and missing the Curtis Cup.

However, these six are almost guaranteed selections if they all remain amateur. They all have international experience and are among amateur golf's best players and have excelled in college (or in Talley's case, junior golf) the last few months.

  • Megha Ganne (No. 4)
  • Kary Hollenbaugh (No. 17)
  • Kelly Xu (No. 20)
  • Amanda Sambach (No. 22)
  • Macy Pate (No. 30)
  • Chloe Kovelesky (No. 37)

Ganne, the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur champion, is the other player who has a spot on the team, if she wants it. But it's unlikely Ganne plays at Bel-Air, as she's probably going to turn pro following the conclusion of the college season since she has a guaranteed start at Riviera. Hollenbaugh and Xu are also outgoing seniors and will have a similar decision to the one Park does. Sambach concluded her collegiate career at Virginia last season but is playing ANWA, and with good form she could be a veteran pick for the team. The Wake Forest duo of Macy Pate and Chloe Kovelesky each have a shot to make the team, especially with how strong they have been for the Demon Deacons this season.
