Team Penske enters the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season with one big question mark. Ryan Blaney recently signed a long-term contract extension, while Joey Logano is locked into his No. 22 car. However, will Austin Cindric earn another year in the No. 2 car? It might be one of the biggest questions in NASCAR's silly season.
Despite not having the same success as his Team Penske teammates over the last few seasons, Motorsports Wire is predicting that Cindric will drive the No. 2 car in 2027. There shouldn't be much appetite for a change since Ford is having a down year overall. In fact, the driver of the No. 2 car is higher than Logano in the standings right now.
Team Penske hopes to find more speed over the remainder of the 2026 NASCAR season, but Cindric, Blaney, and Logano should all be in line to continue driving for the organization. The team is one of the best in NASCAR, and any decision for Cindric should be pushed to next season.
