A three-game SEC series between two unranked schools will be contested at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Week 8 of the 2026 college baseball season.

Tennessee (19-10, 3-6 SEC) will host LSU (20-10, 4-5 SEC) in a matchup of the last three national champions. LSU won a national title in 2023 and 2025, while the Vols won a national championship in 2024.

Game 1 between Tennessee and the Tigers on Friday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EDT (SEC Network), while Saturday’s Game 2 will take place at 6 p.m. EDT (ESPN2). A series finale is slated for April 5 (1 p.m. EDT, SEC Network).

Ahead of the three-games series, Nolan Analytics projected scores for each contest.

Tennessee is projected to win Friday’s series opener, 5-3, while LSU is projected to win Game 2, 6-4. The Tigers are also projected to win Game 3, 10-3, for a series victory over Tennessee.

The Vols enter the series after defeating Austin Peay (14-15), 13-4, on Tuesday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. LSU was also victorious Tuesday, defeating Southern (8-17), 16-6, in seven innings at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

LSU is receiving 56 points in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. The Vols are receiving 38 points and are unranked for the first week in 2026.
