During the spring period, there were likely a few questions surrounding the 2025 Alabama Crimson Tide that saw an answer come at some point over the last two months.
For example, you could certainly make an argument that Alabama's quarterback competition became a bit clearer in spring, while the Crimson Tide also added some players via the transfer portal to a position of need.
As a result, Alabama now enters the summer months likely knowing what a large majority of their depth chart looks like, with only a few potential question marks now remaining looking ahead to fall camp in August.
If we had to make a post-spring prediction as to what Alabama's Week 1 depth chart would look like as well, what would it be entering year two under head coach Kalen DeBoer?
Here is an updated prediction for Alabama's 2025 depth chart post-spring, which includes the starter, as well as the top backup options, at each position, starting with the offense.
The quarterback competition has dominated the talk surrounding Alabama's offseason, and as we come out of the spring, it appears Ty Simpson is the favorite to start Week 1 at Florida State. However, the competition is likely still not over entirely, and Simpson will need to secure the job during fall camp over talented freshman Keelon Russell and Austin Mack.
Alabama's running back position returns a starter from a year ago in Jam Miller, who is coming off a breakout year in which he rushed for a career-high 668 yards and seven touchdowns on 145 attempts. The primary backup options should be Richard Young and Daniel Hill, but this is a deep room where others could also make an impact in 2025.
Alabama has three receivers atop the depth chart post-spring in the returning Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, who will likely start alongside Miami transfer addition Isaiah Horton. Behind that trio, there are numerous names who could make an impact, a group that includes talented freshman Lotzeir Brooks.
Replacing two starters, the Crimson Tide have Josh Cuevas set to return at tight end where he will takeover the starting role alongside likely Danny Lewis Jr.. Spring transfer additions Brody Dalton and Jack Sammarco could factor as the top backup options at the position also, as could freshmen such as Kaleb Edwards.
Alabama has the left tackle position cemented post-spring in Kadyn Proctor, while Wilkin Formby is likely the favorite to start on the right side in Week 1. Transfer addition Arkel Anugwom could also be a prominent backup option, as could freshman Jackson Lloyd.
Alabama will return one-of-two starters at offensive guard in Jaeden Roberts on the right side, while Texas A&M transfer Kam Dewberry could start on the left. Geno VanDeMark is also a prominent name returning that is likely to see extensive time, while highly-touted freshman Michael Carroll is a name to know.
The center position will see Parker Brailsford return as starter next season. Backup options included both Roq Montgomery and Joseph Ionata.
Moving over to the defensive side of the ball, we start along the line where LT Overton mans the "bandit" position as a returning starter. A deep position group, Florida transfer Kelby Collins is likely to make a significant impact, while both Jordan Renaud and Keon Keeley are potential breakout candidates in their own right.
Along the Crimson Tide's interior defensive line, Tim Keenan III is a returning starter who will anchor Alabama's front this season, and will likely be joined by another prominent name that is back, James Smith. As for the backups, one of Alabama's newest additions, Steve Bolo Mboumoua, is a potential instant impact player, while Jeremiah Beaman is a name to know as a possible breakout candidate.
At the "wolf" position, Alabama returns a starter in Qua Russaw who will lead a talented group of potential breakout candidates. Alongside of Russaw, Jah-Marien Latham is back where he could be a versatile member of Alabama's front, while others such as Yhonzae Pierre and freshman Justin Hill will be names to know.
Even despite coming off an injury, Deontae Lawson should be one of the SEC's top linebackers, and when joined by Justin Jefferson, Alabama should have one of the top inside duos in college football. Alabama has also added what is likely to be an impact player in Nikhai Hill-Green through the transfer portal.
Alabama will return both of their starting cornerbacks from a year ago in Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown. Behind that duo are three newcomers who could all see time this season in transfer Cam Calhoun, as well as freshmen Dijon Lee Jr. and Chuck McDonald.
The safety position will also be a big strength for Alabama as both Keon Sabb and Bray Hubbard are back to lead the group. As for the backups, Zavier Mincey and Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. are likely to see time, as could freshman Ivan Taylor.
Rounding out Alabama's defense at the "husky" position, DaShawn Jones is set to return after emerging in the role a year ago. The backup at husky entering the season should be the returning Red Morgan.
After previously acting as the backup, Conor Talty will likely takeover as Alabama's starting kicker in 2025. Reid Schuback will return as the top backup.
A key position to keep an eye on going into fall for Alabama is at punter where transfer addition Blake Doud and freshman Alex Asparuhov could both claim the starting spot. If a current prediction had to be made as to whom starts Week 1, I'll go with Doud.
Lastly, Alabama's starting long snapper looking ahead to 2025 is likely David Bird, an offseason transfer addition. The backup will likely be the returning Alex Rozier.
