THOMASVILLE — A thunderstorm with torrential rain resulted in postponement of the Post 87 HiToms game against Moore County Post 12 on Monday. The storm, which also included high winds, hit about 10 minutes before the scheduled 7 p.m. start, forcing players to seek shelter and flooding portions of the infield.
The American Legion contest, which was to have been the next-to-last home game for Post 87, was tentatively rescheduled for Tuesday night at North Moore High School, with Post 87 designated as the home team.
The teams are scheduled to play Wednesday at North Moore, with Moore County as the home team.
After a break, Post 87 will play five straight days on the road beginning Saturday before ending the regular season at home on July 2 against Anson County.
