Positives and Negatives of the first month

Positives:
1) Starting pitching has been just incredible, more than can be expected.
2) May not be the end of the world is Webb is out for an extended period
3) Hitting is coming around, Lopez, Reynolds, Upton and Tracy
4) Qualls has shown he can close a game

Negatives:
1) Bullpen is atrocious, especially Rauch who should be released
2) Too many runs via the home run. I think we are sitting at 43% of our runs coming by way of the HR. Too American League
3) Timely hitting. Too many RISP left on base and still too many strikeouts

Agree with all the above.

Positive as well:
1) I'm still watching with some hope.
2) Help in the bullpen may have arrived.

Negatives:
1) Continued benching of players at weird times. Goes beyond by-the-book lefty righty stuff. Newly hot hitters given a game off. Huh? Ends up with too much lineup discumbobulation.
2) Lousy attendance.

You could have put up these lists since '07 as they haven't changed much at all - the bullpen the possible exception...

I've been slammed for two years now for saying this, but here it goes again... As along as Chris Young is the starting CF, this team will continually be hamstrung... And it's even a worse situation now since Carlos was let go and flourished. I'm sure the team is totally gun-shy to make a move with CY in fear that we'll see another CQ situation develop. CY is now a curse...

Agreed. For Webby being down, the SP's have been great! Love to see some bats coming alive. Although still not as consistent as I would look (or anyone would like I guess).

Qualls can close...still makes me nervous though, but, who hasn't in the last few years! lol!

Negatives
Bullpen...has been horrible...but I think they are doing a little better. Especially when they get rest, like today's game.

And finally...100% agree. Timely hitting needs to improve. Can't count how many innings we get the first runner or two on and 0 Runs. There has been signs of life the last two series and I am excited for the road trip. Can't wait to see what we can do!!!
