Portsmouth confirm another departure and hope to re-sign former star
Portsmouth have confirmed the departure of defender Ibane Bowat, who has joined League One side Huddersfield Town.
The 23-year-old joined Pompey in 2024 and went on to make 18 appearances for the club.
“We would like to thank Ibane for his efforts in a Pompey shirt and wish him well for the next stage of his career,” boss John Mousinho said.
“After suffering a serious injury shortly after joining the club, he fought back well and played a crucial role in our Championship survival last term.
“But we did not want to stand in his way of hopefully getting more minutes at a strong League One side and I’m sure he will do a good job at Huddersfield.”
Meanwhile, Pompey remain hopeful of re-signing former loan star Abu Kamara from Hull City.
Kamara spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at the club, scoring ten goals and setting up a further 11.
Hull are believed to be willing to listen to offers for the winger, who is also attracting interest from other clubs.
