The Rovers took sole possession of first place in the Chagrin Valley Conference Valley Division and clinched a share of their fifth straight league title. Down 18-17 after a quarter, Rootstown held Berkshire to single digits in each of the middle two quarters while building a double-digit lead.

Tied with Berkshire entering the night, Rootstown now holds a one-game lead and can make its title outright with a win over Kirtland in next week's league finale. The Rovers have two league losses, while the Badgers now have three, alongside Crestwood and Chagrin Falls. The Badgers and Red Devils still have to play each other one more time.
