Kyle Busch was one of the most successful drivers in Pocono Raceway history. This weekend, Pocono Raceway will honor the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion with several tributes, including some the fans can partake in.
The biggest tribute is giving Busch, who recently died from complications of pneumonia and sepsis, a spot on Pocono Raceway's Infield Walk of Fame, which is marked with the No. 18, the number during his time competing for Joe Gibbs Racing from 2008-2022. As an homage to his most recent number, No. 8, the "8" on the rock is colored in while the "1" is just outlined.
Love, racing, and 55 years together: The heart behind Pocono Raceway's voice
Pocono will also have a Fan Zone memorial, where Busch fans an supporters, known as "Rowdy Nation," will be able to write notes and memories on cards that'll be collected and shared with the Busch family and the Richard Childress Racing team., along with a 30-foot banner showcaing all eight of Busch's victories at the Triangle. Fans will also be able to receive stickers with the "8" on them, provided by the Raceway.
Additionally, Pocono Raceway will honor Busch in several fashions throughout the venue in the following ways:
Busch's 63 career Cup Series wins are tied with Denny Hamlin for 9th-most all-time. He's won eight races in his career at Pocono Raceway - four Cup Series races, three Xfinity Races and one CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race.
