"Please Help Me Out": Bernie Kosar Pleads With Jerry Jones After His Cowboys Super Bowl Ring Was Stolen

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar has a rather unusual request for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Kosar revealed that his Super Bowl ring from his time with Dallas was stolen, and he plans to ask Jones if the Cowboys can help him get another one.

“I lost it, so I can’t wear it,” he said on The Sage Steel Show. “And Jerry, I’m going to be calling you because it got stolen. I’m going to be calling you for another one, bro. So, please help me out again.”

Kosar won his only Super Bowl ring as a backup to Troy Aikman, and he played with the Dallas Cowboys for only one season. The team signed him immediately after Cleveland released him in 1993, where he was once a star quarterback. At Super Bowl XXVII, Kosar entered the game on the final play, taking the Cowboys across the line by kneeling in the final few seconds.

An ankle injury derailed his career with the Browns, leading to then-head coach Bill Belichick choosing Vinny Testaverde over Kosar. It was only after the latter got injured that Kosar got to come back.
