The Kentucky Wildcats have picked up a commitment for their secondary. DB Jesse Anderson announced he is transferring from Pitt to Kentucky.

Anderson, a 6-foot defensive back from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, posted to his Instagram to announce that he will be a Wildcat for the 2026 season. The 3-star class of 2023 recruit will have two years of eligibility remaining after completing his redshirt sophomore season.

Anderson redshirted his freshman season at Pitt in 2023. He didn’t receive many reps with the Panthers in 2024, as he was playing on special teams. This past season, Anderson played both wide receiver and safety. He ended the year with two tackles, so he gives Kentucky depth on both sides of the ball.

The Wildcats have added some solid depth for their secondary in this portal cycle. Defensive Coordinator Jay Bateman has brought in Florida transfer Jordan Castell and Aaron Gates. He also retained Ty Bryant, a key piece of the Wildcats’ defense last season.

Will Stein is now at 14 total transfers after the addition of Anderson. The Cats will line up as one of the more experienced secondaries in the SEC next year.
