Las Vegas — Chaz Lanier delivered another impressive performance during the Detroit Pistons' Summer League game against the New York Knicks. He scored a game-high 24 points, shooting 8-of-13 from three-point range.

After two consecutive outstanding performances, Lanier has earned the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the Pistons for the 2026-27 season. He had 18 points within the first half.

However, unlike on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lanier's performance wasn't enough to keep the Pistons afloat, as Detroit fell 86-75 to the Knicks. Ebuka Okorie, despite his shooting struggles, had another solid all-around performance, adding 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Lanier scored nine points in the first quarter. His hot start helped the Pistons take a 24-20 lead heading into the second quarter. However, New York embarked on a 15-3 run during the period. Their performance was enough for the Knicks to get control of a lead they will not cease.

Jack Kayil led the Knicks with 19 points, while Dillon Jones added 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. The Pistons currently have a 1-2 record after playing three Summer League games.
