And realizing that he should swing at only strikes.

It would have been nice if his Manager and Hitting Coach had realized that a year and a half ago.

'Sorry for repeating myself, but I hate to see a young player take the blame for not being coached properly.

I'm not buying what you are pushing here, BC. In Young, I see a guy with a fat contract suddenly unwilling to risk his health.

Evidence:

1. Hardly attempts to steal anymore;
2. Never, ever dives for a catchable ball;
2. In the game in LA, forget which, he turned his head and body away from the ball and the wall, just as he was about to catch the deep drive, afraid to run a glancing blow into the padded wall. The move pulled his glove away, the ball fell, runs scored. He wasn't that close to the wall and barely touched it.

He's not dogging it. Young is being overly careful.

Will the Diamondbacks get no-hit? A perfect game thru five, will he get it?

Not watching the game - is he throwing strikes, or are the DBacks swinging out of the zone?

Since Johnson has to come out due to pitch count, it will soon be 3-0 or so. Which wouldn't be too bad, except the DBacks are getting embarassed. Sad.

Edit: He stayed in for the 8th. Still sad.

This inning shows us once again how bad a manager Melvin is.

They're trying to kill the ball with each swing. Lots of fly outs.

Not only is KARstens throwing a perfecto, he has two hits!

Melvin left Randy in too long, putting personal accomplishments above what is better for the team in the game. Can the managing be any worse?! No, because it is the worst!
