PITTSBURGH — The Pirates announced one additional roster move ahead of Saturday’s game against the Marlins.
Right-handed pitcher Wilber Dotel has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a right lat strain. The 23-year-old rookie took the loss on Friday night after allowing four runs in 1.2 innings pitched, following an appearance against the Dodgers on Tuesday night in which he was charged with six runs and failed to record an out.
Prior to this homestand, Dotel had a 1.08 ERA in seven appearances to begin his career.
To take his place in the bullpen, the Pirates recalled right-hander Brandan Bidois from Triple-A Indianapolis. It was a short time away for Bidois, who was optioned on Friday to make room for rookie Antwone Kelly.
Bidois has made 12 appearances out of the bullpen for the Pirates this season and is 0-0 with a 4.05 ERA.
