The Pittsburgh Pirates belted three home runs to power past the Houston Astros, 10-6, at Daikin Park on Tuesday night for their fourth straight win.
Scoring Plays
Bottom 1st, 2-0 HOU: Two pitches into the game, the Astros (27-35) took a 2-0 lead. After Jeremy Peña reach on an infield single, Yordan Alvarez hit his 21st home run of the season to left field off Bubba Chandler (2-6).
Top 2nd, 2-2: Endy Rodríguez hit his first home run of the year to tie things up. The homer, which came off former Pirate Mike Burrows (3-7), was originally ruled a triple but was overturned after a replay review.

Bottom 4th, 4-2 HOU: Peña hit a liner to left field. Bryan Reynolds attempted to make a diving catch but trapped the ball, and Brice Matthews beat his throw home. Christian Vázquez, however, thought the ball was caught and was thrown out at second, giving Peña an RBI fielders choice.

Later in the inning, Jake Mangum reached on a bunt single and Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes committed a throwing error, allowing Rodríguez to score.
Top 8th, 9-4 PIT: Brandon Lowe provided the insurance by blasting home run No. 15 off Bryan Abreu. His three-run shot banged off the right field foul pole.
Top 9th, 10-4 PIT: Rodríguez doubled to deep left field against AJ Blubaugh, which plated Gonzales and pushed the Pirates into double digits.
Bottom 9th, 10-6 PIT: The Astros scored twice off Dennis Santana, one on a Peña RBI single and another on an Alvarez infield single with a runner on third. Gregory Soto recorded the final two outs for his eighth save of the season.
