Wife and I watched this the other night.

The original animated movie was released in 1940.... and it was a movie fit for the times.

Re-done as a live/CGI film didn't fit in to today. Perfect for 1940, not so much today. The critics killed this, R/T at 28% critics, 35% audience.

All that being said, the wife and I enjoyed it. Good visuals, followed the original pretty much and..... Tom Hanks. I'm certainly not raving about it, but we both did indeed enjoy the watch.

What is weird? I knew the bad ratings on this before it came out. Watched it with the family and didn't want to influence them. The entire family enjoyed it. I think part of it? It's been done to death with specials and Disney's classis animated version.
