Another win and it’s off to Penn State.
That’s the scenario for the four Berks teams left in the PIAA playoffs, including three lacrosse squads.
In Class 2A girls lacrosse, District 3 champion Wyomissing and Twin Valley are two of the four teams left. They are on the opposite side of the bracket and would meet for the state title if they both win on Tuesday.
Wyomissing (22-1) plays District 1 runnerup West Chester Rustin (15-9) at 6 p.m. at Comer Field at Penn Manor High School.
Twin Valley, 20-2 and the District 3 runnerup, plays District 1 champion Villa Maria (21-3) at West Chester Henderson at 5 p.m.
The Twin Valley boys (18-3) will follow the girls team at Henderson, playing District 1 champion Penncrest (16-7) at 7 p.m.
In boys 2A volleyball, District 3 runnerup Brandywine Heights (20-2) plays District 10 champion Meadville (19-0) in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Bald Eagle High School.
The finals in lacrosse and volleyball are Saturday at Penn State.
Wyomissing advanced to the semifinals with 12-2 win over Quaker Valley on Saturday. Claire Hurleman scored four goals and Karly Hyde had three goals and two assists. Molly Macrina scored twice.
In Twin Valley’s 15-4 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, Ellie Kaplan scored 10 goals and had two assists.
The Twin Valley boys advanced with an 11-9 win over Scranton Prep. Drew Engle scored four goals, Maverik Foster had three and Colin Gallagher two.
Brandywine Heights, the district runnerup, is one of three District 3 teams in the volleyball semifinals.
The Bullets advanced with a straight-set win over South Fayette, 25-21, 25-13, 28-26, on Saturday.
For Brandywine, Auston Ambruster had 33 assists and two digs, Gavin Geiger had nine kills, six aces, two digs and two assists, and Eagan Coffin had nine kills, five aces, four digs and an assist.
The other semifinal pits District 3 champion York Suburban against Manheim Central, third in District 3.
