The Philadelphia Phillies are underachieving and need their best players on the field to gain ground in the NL East.

That's what led them to designate a utility man for assignment a week ago, aside from the former Gold Glove Award winner's .200 OPS in 15 plate appearances.

Dylan Moore has cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

"He has the right to elect free agency, though the Phils didn’t indicate whether or not he will exercise that right," Darragh McDonald of MLB Trade Rumors wrote.

Moore signed a minor league contract with the Phillies during the offseason after spending parts of the past seven seasons with the Seattle Mariners and 18 games with the Texas Rangers in 2025.

"Moore is certainly capable of being a solid multi-positional guy. From 2020 to 2024, he hit 43 home runs for the Mariners in 1,397 plate appearances," McDonald added.

However, that kind of pop did not appear during his short stint with the Phillies.

Moore is capable of playing all three outfield positions and has made at least one appearance at every infield spot besides catcher.
