I know this is not baseball, and you’re probably not interested, but it was incredible to see a World Cup match played in Philadelphia last night. I personally was unable to secure tickets, but just seeing the enthusiasm surrounding the match was something awesome to watch.
Compare that to the lethargy displayed by the Phillies yesterday and it’s the definition of two ends of a spectrum.

Phillies news:
- Even with his recent struggles, Don Mattingly believes that there is room to improve for Justin Crawford against left handed pitching ($).
- Andrew Painter is having some struggles as a starting pitcher, so here are some options the Phillies could look at to help.
- The Phillies are doing much, much better under Don Mattingly, but even they admit they could (and should) have done the same under Rob Thomson ($).
MLB news:
- Catchers, since adopting the one knee stance, are seemingly getting hit in a more….sensitive area more often ($).
- The Brewers are already good. They’re now going to promote one of their top prospects to reinforce the lineup even further.
- Another in a recent run of hamate bone injuries, the Royals will now be without Vinnie Pasquantino for over a month.
- Another injury for the Royals, Cole Ragans needs further testing on his injured left wing. The Royals are a mess.
