This really is getting ridiculous. It’s not really just that they’re losing everything right now. It’s how they’re losing the games. Unpreparedness from the manager and pitching coach last night when Michael Harris stepped to the plate. Mental errors by Trea Turner. A poor at bat by Bryce Harper in the ninth inning. There is just so much that is bad right now that they really don’t deserve any goodwill at the moment. They’ll win a game eventually and get on a roll, but this is about as unlikeable as this roster has ever been.

- Even after a hard fought loss to the Cubs, there are at least a few slivers of silver lining to take away from it ($).

- Where is the ol’ panic meter on several of the teams that are struggling? For the Phillies, at least, it’s high. It’s very, very high.
- I found this to be an interesting read on Paul DePodesta and his return to the game after his years with the Browns in the NFL ($).
- The Royals are doing with their stadium what George Costanza never could: they’re doing…..downtown.
- The Cubs traded cash for Nicky Lopez. Imagine saying that they did this willingly.
