The Philadelphia Phillies have given Justin Crawford the starting centerfield job for the 2026 MLB season.

And on Opening Day, he's also going to have a new jersey number.

Crawford wore the No. 80 during Spring Training before earning himself a roster spot. Going forward, he'll wear the number 2.

Justin Crawford said he’ll switch from No. 80 to No. 2 in the regular season.

The 22-year old was a first-round pick in 2022 and now is coming to the big club for the first time.

This offseason, he was ranked the No. 53 prospect in the sport by MLB Pipeline, No. 69 by ESPN, No. 75 by Baseball America and No. 98 by Baseball Prospectus.

Now, he'll join a quirky list of Phillies players to wear 2. He'll be the 29th guy to rock that single digit in franchise history.
