There are still several months before the start of the 2026 NFL season, and the Philadelphia Eagles have been urged to use that time to hammer out an extension with a key cog on the defensive side of the ball.

Defensive tackle Moro Ojomo has just one year remaining on his current contract in Philadelphia, but the Eagles should look to lock up him long-term, as opposed to letting him enter the season on an expiring deal.

Eagles urged to extend Moro Ojomo before 2026 NFL season

In a recent article for ESPN, Aaron Schatz named one move that every team needs to make before the onset of the '26 season and extending Ojomo was the task for Philadelphia.

"Ojomo, a 2023 seventh-round pick, stepped in when Milton Williams left Philadelphia and had a very good season in 2025. Ojomo ranked 11th among qualifying interior linemen with a 10% pass rush win rate and had six sacks and 38 total tackles," Schatz wrote.

"He's versatile enough to line up at end or tackle (or, in Philadelphia, as a 5-technique end), and it would be good for the Eagles to extend his rookie contract to maintain consistency on their defensive line in case they can't come to an extension agreement with Jalen Carter next offseason."

More to come.
