The Philadelphia 76ers aren’t done making moves ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.

The Philadelphia 76ers have already traded for Jaylen Brown and signed LeBron James during the offseason.

While the team’s starting five is ready, they still need role players for depth. After all, in today’s NBA, an excellent bench is as important as a star-studded starting five to win an NBA Championship.

Philadelphia 76ers plan to sign Kentavious Caldwell-Pope after Memphis Grizzlies buyout​

One player that the 76ers are now heavily linked to is James’ former LA Lakers teammate, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

“Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Memphis Grizzlies are negotiating a buyout and the veteran 3-&-D specialist intends to team back up with LeBron James and sign with the Philadelphia 76ers,” insider Chris Haynes reported on X.

KCP is known for his elite three-point shooting combined with suffocating defense. Moreover, the veteran sharpshooter brings NBA Championship experience to the 76ers.

Aside from helping the Lakers lift the 2020 NBA Championship, Caldwell-Pope played a crucial role in the Denver Nuggets’ 2023 NBA title-winning run.

Last season, KCP averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game for the Grizzlies while shooting 41.0% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point line.
