Another multiple-time Masters winner won't tee it up at Augusta National next week.
Phil Mickelson announced Thursday he would not compete in the 90th Masters and would be out for an extended period of time due to a personal health matter involving family.
"I have great respect for Augusta National Golf Club and it is definitely the most special week of the year," Mickelson posted on social media. "I wish everyone the best of luck and will be watching."
Mickelson, who won the Masters in 2004, 2006 and 2010, also missed LIV Golf's first four events of 2026 dealing with a family health matter. He did compete in South Africa, however, finishing T-48.
The Masters field now sits at 91 players. It can grow to 92 if the winner of this week's Valero Texas Open is not already exempt.
