Phil Mickelson's wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported her husband and their family with "extraordinary grace" and "unwavering love" through Mickelson's scandals and allegations of sexual misconduct, according to a statement released by a spokesperson.

Mickelson's private life has been under scrutiny in recent weeks amid several reports of inappropriate conduct, including an investigation in Skratch.golf which said Mickelson showed the wife of professional golfer Pat Perez a nude photo of himself and then propositioned her in 2015.

"Recovery is not a straight line. Throughout their 35-year relationship, his wife, Amy Mickelson, has supported Mr. Mickelson and their family with extraordinary grace, unwavering love, and the belief that people are measured not only by their failures, but by what they do to make them right," a spokeswoman for Mickelson said.

"Mr. Mickelson's priority is to become the husband, father, and man his family deserves. Right now, that means giving his full attention to a private family health matter. He understands that parts of his life are public, but his family's private matters are not."

Mickelson has played once this year, announcing in April he was taking leave from golf to tend to a serious family health matter.

Perez and his wife, Ashley, were staying at a villa next to Mickelson's at the 2015 Barclays tournament at Plainfield CC in Edison, N.J. They were together when Mickelson showed Ashley a very explicit nude photo of himself on his phone when Perez was in the bathroom, according to the report.

“Phil says to me, ‘I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight,’’ Ashley Perez said, according to the report. “When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me.’"

The report details another incident in which Mickelson made inappropriate remarks to a woman and propositioned her "in graphic detail," the woman said. She added, "it felt like verbal rape."

Ashley Perez said she had a very similar "incredibly inappropriate" experience with Mickelson before the incident in which he showed her the nude photo.

Mickelson owned a one bedroom condo on the second story of the clubhouse at the Madison Club in La Quinta, California. Multiple members and employees of the club told Skratch that Mickelson began regularly having at least one woman who was not his wife spend the night in his condo.

A Golf Digest report from June 11 alleges Mickelson approached a woman at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe and initiated nonconsensual physical contact. She rejected his advances and immediately told her supervisors. Mickelson is no longer welcomed at the club where he has practiced for many years. The incident occurred in the spring.

The statement also said some of the allegations are not true.

“Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately,” it read. “Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative.

“No person, no article, and no book can present an accurate, complete, or personal story of the life Mr. Mickelson and his family have lived. His story, struggles, and recovery belong to him and to the people who have shared it closely alongside him.”

Mickelson's attorney, Tom Clare, denied the allegations from The Farms Golf Club and issued a statement about the Skratch report, admonishing the golf media.

"A small segment of the golf media has decided that because Mr. Mickelson is a successful golfer, every detail of his private and family life is theirs to exploit," Clare said. "Recycling mistakes he has already acknowledged as new reporting, and dragging private family matters into public view, is reckless. It is the pursuit of clicks at the expense of the truth. Do better.”

Mickelson and his wife Amy have been married for 30 years. The couple has three children.

Mickelson has withdrawn from the British Open, July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale in England. He did not play in the Masters, PGA Championship and U.S. Open. This will mark the first time in his career will miss all four majors in the same year.
