It's been a very long time since Pete Carroll coached at USC, but he's still remained heavily involved with the school. Though the Las Vegas Raiders didn't draft any former USC players in this class, they did decide to sign a couple of former Trojans.

It was revealed early on that the team was signing cornerback Jamie "Greedy" Vance Jr., but he wasn't the last USC cornerback the Raiders signed. The program announced that cornerback John Humphrey is also heading to Las Vegas.

At 6-foot-2, Humphrey fits the mold of the size that Carroll wants to see from his cornerbacks.

Humphrey also has ties to Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. He spent four years being coached by him at UCLA before transferring down the street to play at USC following Kelly's decision to go to Ohio State.

The Raiders should have a ton of intel on how Humphrey is as a player. He played 12 games for the Trojans last season. He had three passes defended, 23 combined tackles and an interception.

Though he's got great size, he's not particularly athletic. He'll be a project for the Raiders to likely stash away on the practice squad if he looks good this offseason.

Las Vegas appears to be favoring developmental players who have good traits this offseason, so it may be a while before Humphrey can get on the field. The Raiders do have questions at cornerback, so there will be ample opportunity for young players to try and stand out.
