Miami's newest volleyball league will welcome Paulo Coco as the first head coach of LOVB Miami.
Paulo Coco will be coming to Miami after serving as the head coach of LOVB Atlanta for the past two years.
There, he led Atlanta to the league's best record in 2025, and the second-best record in 2026. In the two-year regular season, Coco is the best in the league with a record of 24-12.
Coco is an assistant coach for Brazil's national team, which has won gold and silver in multiple Olympics, five World Championship medals and 17 medals during Volleyball Nations League and World Grand Prix during his tenure. He has also led some of Brazil's biggest clubs to take home multiple league titles and medals.
“’I’m incredibly excited to join LOVB Miami!”, exclaimed Coco, according to a recent press release by LOVB. “Miami’s diversity, culture and passion for sports make it a special place, and I can’t wait to connect with the community. I’m honored to represent this city and help build a team that Miami can be proud of.”
LOVB Miami is one of the four expansion teams for League One Volleyball that will begin play in the 2026-27 season. The expansion to south Florida was announced on May 21. The roster has yet to be formed.
