The New England Patriots continued to load up on the offensive side of the ball in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft by selecting Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson with the No. 38 pick.

Henderson is a home run threat in the offensive backfield who should serve as a nice complement for Rhamondre Stevenson. He's also talented enough to take over as an every-down back, but the Patriots would likely prefer a committee approach to limit the wear and tear on his body.

The former Ohio State standout rushed for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns last season to help the Buckeyes win a national championship.

His addition to the offensive backfield suddenly gives the Patriots one of the most formidable running back rooms in the league. Not only do they have Henderson and Stevenson, but they also have another solid third-down option in veteran Antonio Gibson.

A three-headed monster in the offensive backfield should take even more pressure off second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
