The Patriots apparently like this 2025 NFL Draft class. After the conclusion of the 7-round event, Mike Vrabel’s team quickly started to sign undrafted free agents.

That’s when it became apparent the Patriots were signing too many players with too few roster spots.

On Monday, the team rectified that issue by releasing six veteran players to clear the way for a bigger-than-usual undrafted free-agent class.

Among those released were 2023 fourth-round pick Jake Andrews. Drafted to be the Patriots future center, Andrews suffered a serious lower-body injury last season and missed the entire 2024 campaign. He started one game at left guard as a rookie.

This move comes after the Patriots drafted center Jared Wilson in the third round. They also have newly signed Garrett Bradbury, Ben Brown, and Cole Strange on the roster.

The Patriots also released defensive lineman Marcus Harris, receiver JaQuae Jackson, linebacker Titus Leo, safety Mark Perry, and tight end Giovanni Ricci. All those players, other ran Ricci, were signed to the Patriots last season under then-head coach Jerod Mayo. Leo played in four games with the Patriots last season, making one tackle.

After drafting 11 players last weekend, the Patriots had 79 players on their 90-man roster. The team quickly filled those 11 spots, but didn’t stop, signing a reported 17 undrafted free agents.

Although the team has yet to announce the signings, the Patriots are reportedly bringing in quarterback Ben Wooldridge, linebacker Cam Riley, guard Jack Conley, cornerback Brandon Crossley, running back, Lan Larison, receiver DeMeer Blankumsee, safety Josh Minkins, fullback Brock Lampe, guard Cole Birdow, receiver Efton Chism III, defensive tackle Wilfried Pene, right end Gee Scott Jr., tight end C.J. Dippre, receiver Jeremiah Webb, safety Jordan Polk, edge rusher Elijah Ponder, and defensive tackle Jahvaree Ritzie.
