The New England Patriots made a roster move after their second training camp practice of the offseason.
According to the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed, the Patriots placed wide receiver Jeremiah Webb on injured reserve on Sunday, effectively ending his season before it even starts.
Webb, who is dealing with an arm injury, had hopes of finding a role on the roster, particularly on special teams. He signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2025.
The former South Alabama standout did not appear in a game for the Patriots last season. He spent time on the active squad in January. He also spent time on the practice squad at the end of last season.
The 25-year-old Webb is the latest player for New England to land on injured reserve this offseason. He is currently signed to a one-year futures contract with the Patriots. New England will work their other wide receivers into game shape for the rest of the summer before the start of next season.
