I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but what would be the possibility of the new stadium being dedicated as "Pat Tillman Memorial Stadium?"

I realize that there are millions of dollars in naming rights that go along with a new stadium but couldnt the name of the company be incorporated along with Tillman's name...such as.....

SouthWest Airlines Pat Tillman Memorial Stadium.

Just a thought.

In the space of about one hour, I received "out of the blue" e-mail correspondence from several people supporting the concept of Tillman Field and asking whom we might contact close to the Cardinal organization to voice our support?

The first 2 people that came to mind were Omo and Jim S (although it could be Ian, Jo, Mike or others involved with this site).

Is there a single channel of communication that people wishing to support this idea can use - maybe a sticky where a simple "count me in" message could suffice as a vote "for"?

Note - Although I understand the business side of stadium issues and the revenue implications of not selling the naming-rights to a corporate sponsor, (and recognizing that half a loaf is better than none) I'd still really hope we wouldn't wind up with a name like ABC Insurance Co. Pat Tillman Field. Just "Tillman Field" would be nice.

That's priceless dude.

I attend Ohio State games at The Shoe.

In a few years I want to attend at least one game at The Till.

Has there been any talk about this at all in official/important circles?

I wanted to bring this up again because I think it is a very important question.

I would love to see the Till' come to pass.

I would love to have my kids take their kids to that field and steep them in the story that by then would be lore.

Well, they've announced that the plaza surrounding the stadium will be named in his honor. I heard on the radio that they plan to do something with the layout of it, to further recognize him. I actually think that is a tribute that will be more visible than the field. That way, every single person who goes to the stadium, or by it, sees it. Remember, there will be only twelve home games a year, at most, the stadium will be used a lot more than that.

I want to see how things play out.

Honestly, I'm not a big Cards fan anymore. This is mostly due to where I live. The same goes for the Suns. I'm busier now and I just don't see games.

But, I feel it is imperative to maybe make it out there for a game this year. To make a pilgrimage for lack of a better word, to show support.

I'm glad there will be that plaza.

I don't know. Maybe I just believe what others have said today. Is there enough that can be done?

And in the end, none of that will still be enough. To truly honor him is to maybe try to be more like him.
