Panthers Week 16 injury report: 2 starters ruled out vs. Buccaneers

Carolina Panthers left tackle Ikem Ekwonu still has a chance to suit up for the team's biggest game in three years.

The fourth-year lineman, after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday due to his knee injury, returned for Friday's session as a limited participant. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Head coach Dave Canales told reporters that Ekwonu's participation today was "encouraging," and that he will "probably" be a game-time decision.

Two other starters, defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton (hamstring) and inside linebacker Trevin Wallace (shoulder), are not as lucky. Both have been ruled out of the huge NFC South showdown.

Canales noted that Claudin Cherelus will start in place of Wallace.
