The Carolina Panthers are reportedly set to make another addition to their trenches.
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, the team is signing defensive lineman Elijah Garcia. The 28-year-old was one of seven players who was brought in for a workout following Friday's session of training camp.
A Tuscon, Ariz. native, Garcia attended Rice University from 2016 to 2021. Over five seasons there, he totaled 190 combined tackles (13.5 for a loss) and 6.5 sacks, and was named a first-team All-Conference USA selection for his final campaign.
The 6-foot-5, 302-pounder would then enter the pros as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. He's amassed 17 regular-season appearances in the NFL—with additional stops for the Denver Broncos (2022 to 2023), New York Giants (2023 to 2024) and Atlanta Falcons (2025).
In addition to Garcia, the Panthers are also planning to bring on fellow defensive lineman Kyon Barrs.
