For the Carolina Panthers, the quickest path back to contention is building up the supporting cast around starting quarterback Bryce Young.
Last year, the Panthers finally found Young a legitimate No. 1 receiver by using their first-round pick on Arizona star Tetairoa McMillan. Now, they need to fill out the rest of the room, and find him a real starting-caliber tight end.
The good news is that general manager Dan Morgan and the rest of the front office is apparently doing their due diligence on both fronts. The latest scoop from Ian Rapoport at NFL Network states that the Panthers recently met with Tennessee wideout Chris Brazzell II:
Brazzell (6-foot-4, 198 pounds) spent two years at Tulane before transferring to Tennessee. All together, he has put in 40 games at the college level—totaling 136 catches, 2,072 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
In 2025, he tallied 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and an SEC-leading nine scores. Here are the highlights:
Brazzell is currently projected to come off the board in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
