The Carolina Panthers are continuing the maintenance of running back Rico Dowdle.

Like last Wednesday, Dowdle was a non-participant in practice to start the week. The sixth-year rusher has been listed with a quadriceps injury.

Head coach Dave Canales spoke about Dowdle's outlook following the session.

"Rico's just dealing with a quad," Canales told reporters. "So we just decided to give him the day off, and treat it and just take him off his feet today a little bit.

"The plan is to get him back out there tomorrow. We'll evaluate him in the morning. But the plan is to get him out there to practice, to take some reps and get himself going."

Dowdle rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in the Week 10 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Canales added that inside linebacker Trevin Wallace, also a non-participant from this afternoon, is not expected to play in Sunday's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons due to a shoulder injury.

Here's the full injury report from today:

  • DL Derrick Brown (Knee) | Wednesday: Limited
  • RB Rico Dowdle (Quadriceps) | Wednesday: DNP
  • S Lathan Ransom (Hand) | Wednesday: DNP
  • WR Brycen Tremayne (Hip) | Wednesday: Limited
  • ILB Trevin Wallace (Shoulder) | Wednesday: DNP
  • G Chandler Zavala (Elbow) | Wednesday: Full
