Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk Brushes Off Loss to Maple Leafs

The Florida Panthers fell short of advancing to the Eastern Conference Final, dropping Game 6 to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Florida will now be forced to go back on the road for Game 7.

The Panthers were shut out by the Maple Leafs in what was a very poor effort from Florida. But the team understands that there is still work to do and that this series isn't over.

After the game was over, the Panthers weren't sulking, but rather looking ahead to Game 7.

“They took care of one on our home ice," Florida forward Matthew Tkachuk said. "They played really well and did what they did earlier in the series by blocking shots. We had a good push in the second, but they played really well in the third once they got the lead there. Back to the drawing board I guess. We were down 2-0 in this series, so we would have loved a Game 7. We’re not going to sit here and pout about it."

The Panthers won the Stanley Cup last season, so they have experience in tough situations. This team has shown all sorts of championship composure in this series, and they will look to their experience to help guide them.

Florida showed that they could win in Toronto, but the Maple Leafs will likely be entering the game with a ton of confidence. The Panthers will need to not only manage the team on the ice but also make sure not to allow the crowd to impact the game as well.
