After losing Sean Mannion to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Green Bay Packers have requested to interview Arizona Cardinals pass game specialist Connor Senger for the team's now open quarterbacks coach job, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Mannion, who took over the quarterbacks job after Tom Clements retired before the 2025 season, departed the Packers for the Eagles offensive coordinator position on Thursday.

It appears the Packers are attempting to find another young, ascending coach as a replacement. Senger, a Wisconsin native who is only 30 years, has been with the Cardinals since the 2022 season.

Senger grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee, played quarterback collegiately at Wisconsin and UW-Oshkosh and then went into coaching, first at UW-Oshkosh.

Senger coached quarterbacks at UW-Oshkosh in 2017, quarterbacks at Carroll College in 2018 and running backs at UW-Whitewater in 2019 before joining North Dakota State as an offensive quality control coordinator in 2020, a job he held through 2021. He would have crossed paths with Packers receiver Christian Watson, who starred for North Dakota State from 2018 to 2021.

Senger joined the Cardinals through the Bill Bidwill Coaching Fellowship program in 2022, assisting with coaching quarterbacks. He became an offensive assistant in 2023, an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2024 and the passing game specialist in 2025.

Of course, Jonathan Gannon, the new Packers defensive coordinator, was with the Cardinals between 2023 and 2025 and likely recommended Senger for the position.

In addition to his work with the Cardinals, Senger has also participated as an assistant coach at the East-West Shrine Game in both 2026 (playcaller) and 2025 (receivers coach) and at the Senior Bowl in 2024 (receivers coach).

If hired, Senger would be the position coach for Jordan Love, and responsible for developing whoever wins the backup job behind Love for the 2026 season.
