Packers: NFL Suspends Players Amid Josh Jacob's Speculation
The Green Bay Packers were one of the teams waiting for the NFL to reveal suspensions for the upcoming season.
Star running back Josh Jacobs, dealing with a groin injury this preseason, is one of several players who could be suspended at some point during the regular season. The NFL is investigating an alleged domestic incident.
Per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the league revealed three suspensions on Friday.
"Titans DB Nazeeh Johnson suspended six games for violating the PED policy," Garafolo wrote. "Commanders DE Dorance Armstrong suspended one game for violating the personal-conduct policy.
"Bills DT Phidarian Mathis suspended three games for violating the substance-abuse policy."
Jacobs was not named as one of the players suspended for the upcoming regular season. However, the league is expected to reveal more suspensions before Week 1.
Earlier this week, ESPN's Adam Schefter said Jacob's situation was "under review" with the league.
"It's also possible... the Green Bay Packers are going to lose Josh Jacobs," Schefter said. "That also still is under review and still a pending situation with the NFL."
On Friday, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters he was hopeful Jacobs could return to practice sometime late next week.

"Matt LaFleur said RB Josh Jacobs (groin) could 'potentially' return for this upcoming week of training camp practices 'but it wouldn't be until later in the week.'"
The Packers need Jacobs healthy and available to play as many games as possible for the upcoming season. He rushed for 929 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He added 36 receptions for 282 yards and a touchdown.
In the offseason, Green Bay watched tis second-leading rusher, Emanuel Wilson, sign with the Seattle Seahawks in free agency. The Packers have Damien Martinez, Chris Brooks, Pierre Strong Jr., and MarShawn Lloyd on the depth chart.
Martinez led the Packers in rushing in Thursday night's 28-9 preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He rushed eight times for 20 yards. Lloyd rushed three times for 10 yards. Strong rushed three times for nine yards.
In total, Green Bay had 63 yards on 24 carries, which is not ideal for an offense that bases its identity on the run.
