The Packers can ill afford to suffer an injury at tight end, as emerging star Tucker Kraft works his way back from a torn ACL suffered last season.
However, that’s exactly the fear that Green Bay is facing after the team’s latest minicamp practice.
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (88) catches a pass during Green Bay Packers Family Night on Aug. 2, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Packers tight end Luke Musgrave left practice early due to an apparent injury.
Musgrave, who has battled through myriad injuries throughout his NFL career and struggled mightily to stay on the field for the Packers, will likely be called upon to open the season as Green Bay’s No. 1 tight end.
Since being chosen in the second round, Musgrave hasn’t just been overshadowed by Kraft, but has struggled to be productive in his own right, catching just 65 passes for 649 yards and one touchdown.
Presuming Musgrave’s injury isn’t anything serious, he’ll likely get the chance this summer during training camp and the preseason to build up his rapport with quarterback Jordan Love, and could become a bigger piece of the pie for the Packers’ offense, especially if Kraft’s rehab takes longer than anticipated.
