CHICAGO − Josh Jacobs could barely walk to his locker four days ago. He'll run against the Chicago Bears defense on Dec. 20 in the biggest matchup of the NFL's oldest rivalry since 2013.

The Green Bay Packers running back is active despite being listed with a knee injury he's played through in the past several weeks. Jacobs reaggravated the bone bruise in his left knee early last week at the Denver Broncos but returned to finish with 73 yards on 12 carries, including the longest run of his Packers' tenure on a 40-yard touchdown. He also added a 14-yard touchdown catch after reaggravating his knee, only the second touchdown grab of his career.

Receiver Christian Watson will be joining Jacobs on the field for the Packers offense a week after injuring his chest and shoulder against the Broncos. Watson was listed as questionable after leaving that game following a Pat Surtain II interception on Jordan Love's deep shot down the middle. Surtain fell on Watson, whose left arm slammed into the field, but the Packers receiver indicated this week he'd be ready to play.

The question for Jacobs and Watson is how close to full capacity the two key playmakers will be with their injuries. Jacobs did not practice this week, while Watson was limited.

Zach Tom, Evan Williams inactive vs. Bears, leaving hole on both sides of the ball

The Packers couldn't get every key player back to health on a short week. Right tackle Zach Tom and safety Evan Williams are both inactive. Both were listed as questionable with back/knee and knee injuries, respectively.

Tom injured his back and knee late in the first half at Denver. Darrian Kinnard replaced him at right tackle for the second half. Kinnard is active despite being listed as questionable with a neck injury. It remains to be seen if Kinnard or second-year lineman Jordan Morgan replaces Tom at right tackle against the Bears.

While Tom is the anchor of the Packers' offensive line, Williams' absence is also significant. Williams has developed into a superb run defender from the safety position in his second season. The Bears have the NFC's top-ranked rushing offense, second in the NFL behind only the Buffalo Bills.

Dontayvion Wicks active after reaggravating ankle injury two weeks ago vs. Bears

Receiver Dontayvion Wicks is also active after being listed as questionable because of an ankle injury. Wicks reaggravated the injury he's dealt with since training camp two weeks ago against the Bears, playing only six snaps. He played 28 snaps last week in Denver.

Wicks had six catches on seven targets for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' win at Detroit on Thanksgiving, but only one catch for six yards and two targets the past two weeks.

Packers full inactives

Along with Tom and Williams, defensive linemen Nazir Stackhouse and Quinton Bohanna and tight end Josh Whyle are also inactive. Whyle had a concussion early against the Broncos.

Bears inactives

The Bears will be without two key pieces to the offense as receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III are inactive. The rest of the inactives are linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II, quarterback Case Keenum, linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga and defensive lineman Jonathan Ford.

The Bears are getting a big lift to the defense as they activated linebacker Tremaine Edmunds from injured reserve.
